I was wondering when planning out the pre-launch phase, what are the recommended number of boxes to send out in the first couple months? I was wondering because it would seem really expensive to create 1000s of boxes at first.

This totally depends on your early traction. If you end up with 1500 emails and a 15% true conversion rate (presubs to subs), you’ll need to send out at least 225 boxes Month 1. Depending on your marketing, that can quickly scale up. Custom boxes can be expensive, but if you’re growing & launch with a good scale, it’s worth while investment.

How can you see how many people visit your pre-launch landing page on Cratejoy? Is that in analytics? In order to know my conversation rate I need that info and I can’t figure where to find that!

Have you added Google Analytics? I would recommend installing GA and tracking through that!
